OIL PAINTING

A full hand painted artwork rendered with strong details and textures. A simple background of colour will be offered unless something more complex is desired. Oil painted on canvas and varnished.

Oil paintings will be quoted individually.

Turnaround time 2 weeks minimum + time for drying.

Hi! My name is Emily.I'm a concept artist and illustrator based in Exeter, UK.For over 10 years I’ve gained experience in art and design on projects spanning concept art, illustration, photography and graphic design.Since 2019, I have worked professionally as a concept artist and art department assistant for film, TV and games working on projects from Marvel, Lucasfilm, Disney, Supermassive Games, Intermission Film and more.In 2016 I graduated with a Photographic Arts BA from the University of Westminster and still enjoy shooting photographs in my spare time. Alongside digital art I also enjoy traditional mediums such as oil painting and you can often find me scribbling with pens in a sketchbook.When I’m not creating art, you can find me playing video games or hiking and exploring new places with a camera.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Please read the following terms carefully - by submitting a commission form I will assume you have acknowledged and agreed to the terms of service here.

ART CONTENT

• I love drawing and painting portraits and animals so I’d be happy to draw your friends, family and your furry companions!
• I love drawing character and creature art. I can design your D&D characters and original characters (OC’s)!
• I really enjoy fantasy, horror and sci-fi genres but I'm happy to create most things (including NSFW and gore, within reason.)
• My style is slightly more 'realistic' - I can work a little stylised but please bear this in mind before you ask me to draw in a cartoon / anime or manga style because I will not :)
• I do not work with AI nor will I use this in my workflow.
• I may decline drawing content that I find unsuitable for my art style or content I find inappropriate / uncomfortable.
• I will not accept a commission that will be used commercially or to be sold onwards such as prints, stickers, apparel or other.

PAYMENT INFO & PROCESS

• A quote will be sent to your email upon completion of the enquiry form (unless I need more details in which I'll contact you directly.)
• The quote is not a final bill or a contract, purely a breakdown of costs.
• I require 50% upfront 50% on final completion. The upfront will act as a deposit to secure your spot and commence work. If you'd like to pay in full that's also okay (and saves me chasing you later).
• I accept payment through Paypal.
• Paypal invoices allow multiple payments if you wish to spread the cost (not including the minimum 50% upfront).
• Upon completion I’ll send you a small resolution, watermarked version to make sure you're happy.
• Final, full resolution artwork will be sent once approved by the customer and full payment is completed.
• I have the right to decline sending any commissions that are left unpaid.
• If the quote is left unresponsive for 14 days I'll assume you no longer need it.

REFUND / CANCELLATION POLICY

• You are under no obligation to pay the full amount until you are happy with the final result. I’ll always do my best to rectify any issues or problems that may arise.
• If, for any reason, you wish to cancel your commission before the final payment, you are free to do so at any time and will not need to pay any outstanding amount. I will however, retain the deposit (and any amount already paid) to help cover loss of business, and any time spent on the project so far.
• If you haven’t paid the remaining 30 days after notification of completion and I have not heard otherwise, I will assume you want to cancel the commission.
• If you have paid for your commission in full, I will keep until I hear from you.
• A full refund will only be offered if I'm unable to complete the commission.
• No refunds or returns on completed art.

TURNAROUND TIME

• Please do allow plenty of time if you are considering this as a gift etc.
• The turnaround times are estimated as there may be factors which lead to longer (and sometimes shorter) time to complete.
• I will make sure to communicate any anticipated delays.
• If you are purchasing an oil painting, drying time should be taken into account.
• I will offer priority / rushed work for 50% the cost of the commission. Please let me know in the request box if you have a priority deadline. If I’m unable to rush your order I’ll let you know.
• As I have limited spaces; if after 14 days I do not hear from you after sending your quote your place in the queue may be pushed to free up a spot for someone else.
• If the form is closed it means I am full but feel free to email me and I will let you know when I'm available and can add you to the waiting list.

REVISIONS

• For digital I will create a rough sketch and this’ll be the opportunity to discuss feedback. I’ll then create a very quick colour blockout and these rounds will be opportunities to discuss any changes prior to the final artwork.
• Small revisions will be considered but larger changes may incur a fee depending on time it'll take me to update.
• I do not offer unlimited revisions. I want to keep the process flowing as much as possible and usually the 2 step (sketch + colour blockout) process works.
• As an artist, I understand I may not always get it right so I'll always do my best to rectify any changes or concerns and always try and be fair with revising artwork.

TRADITIONAL ART

• I will create a rough sketch before proceeding with the final artwork for pen, pencil and oil paintings.
• For traditional work regular updates will be sent as your artwork progresses in the form of low res, watermarked photos.
• Any large changes to traditional commissions may result in a new commission which will be charged accordingly as this will need more time, new materials etc.
• For oil paintings, there is a drying period in which I can make changes so please be conscious that I will only be able to do this in a certain amount of time. If I don't hear from you I can't promise I can make changes. I will make sure to discuss this with you as I go!
• If you are purchasing an oil painting, drying time will need to be taken into account with regards to postage.

POSTAGE & PACKAGING

• I offer both domestic (UK) and international shipping.
• I do not offer framing for physical artwork but will ensure your artwork is packaged securely and safely for its journey to you and you are free to source your own framer locally.
• If you're buying it as a gift, I can send it to the recipient directly just let me know. There's an option for this on the form.
• All my packaging is eco friendly / biodegradable!

THE EXTRA SMALL PRINT

• You may not remove or alter any watermark added - Please do ask me if you have any concerns regarding placement of watermark or signature (this will always be small and discreet on the final).
• For any non-commercial work I retain all rights to the property and this may not be used for profit in any form without correct credit or compensation.
• No alterations are to be made to the final artwork without prior approval, please be kind.
• I have full right to post artwork to my social media and portfolio as appropriate.
• The customer is allowed to use the artwork for personal use only unless otherwise agreed.
• The customer may also use the art to promote themselves with proper credit to the artist.
• Reproducing or using the copyrighted artwork commercially or for sale is strictly prohibited.
• I want you to be happy with the final product and would love nothing more than for you to share photos with me and on socials!
• Please don't forget to credit me 😊
